Industrial magnate Henry Ford has said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” It’s a simple quote but it succinctly describes how all of us can harness the Law of Attraction. The Secret has taught us that pasting photos on a vision board is major key to obtaining the lives of our dreams however as we delve deeper into the laws of the universe, it is clear that such a superficial act barely brushes the surface of the true path to manifestation: our thoughts.
If you’ve ever had a bad day that keeps getting worse, that is an example of the Law of Attraction. When one bad thing happens, for example, we sleep in or we miss our exit, we begin to worry that more bad things will happen. We expect that it is the beginning of a bad day and brace ourselves. From there we can spiral into a state of anxiety and irritation that can ruin our best-laid plans.
This is the result we can expect if we believe that life just happens to us. Alternatively, if we become self-aware, and we understand the Law of Attraction, we know that when the anxiety begins, it is time to mentally and emotionally reset to break that momentum. We have to focus our thoughts on what is good in order to put us back on track to enjoying our day.
What we think about and what we believe becomes our reality. If we expect the best, we attract the best. If an athlete believes she will become champion, she will train to become a champion. She will visualize her competition from the moment she steps into the arena until her hand is raised in victory.
If she does not believe she will become champion, she will not train to be a champion. She will not visualize herself with her hand raised and she will never try.
You only fail if you stop trying.
Some may say, not everyone can become the champion. But isn’t the one who tries her best much further ahead than the person who doesn’t try at all? The Law of Attraction teaches us that we can be, do and have everything we want. It starts with belief. What others have achieved, we can achieve. What we expect, we attract.
Begin analyzing your life. What do you believe? What do you expect? If you do not feel joy in this analysis, reset. Begin experimenting.
Start with writing down ten things you’re thankful for every day. When you focus on gratitude, you will notice that you will become more positive and you will attract better experiences into your life.
When you are in a state of positivity and gratitude, start to experiment with asking the universe for small things. A prime parking spot, a perfectly cooked steak or a meeting with a handsome stranger. As you receive these small things, you will begin to have the confidence to ask for things that you’ve never dreamt you could have and gradually you will be living the life of your dreams.
It all starts with the decision to think about what makes you happy and believing that you deserve it.
